FAQ

What do I need to bring?

There’s no need to bring any tools or equipment with you to Country Pines. (In fact, we can’t allow people to bring their own tools. Pesky insurance rules.) Just dress for the weather and we’ll provide the rest including saws, carts, tree shaking, netting, throwaway bags, and we’ll even tie the tree to the roof of the ol’ stationwagon, if needed!

How do I take care of my precut tree?

First and foremost, be sure to cut off  ¼” off the trunk. Make the cut perpendicular to the stem, not at an angle or a V-shape.

Use a stand with an adequate water-holding capacity and check the stand daily to make sure the water level does not go below the base of the tree.

Keep the tree away from sources of heat such as fireplaces, heaters, vents, and direct sunlight. Lowering the room temperature will slow the drying process and result in less water consumption each day.

We have made the very difficult decision the past couple of years to restrict what trees were available to be cut. The red ribbons were tied to trees that were not to be cut. This is a dual purpose post. 1- this is a tree that was 6’ or less last October when we tagged trees. (Same tree in both pictures, before and after shearing.) Today it is almost 7’ to the leader! As many of you may recall, we had ALOT of red ribbons out there last year! Patience has paid off because the vast majority of those trees are now in that 6-7’ range that most people are looking for, which means it’s going to be a good year for cut your own!! What’s the 2nd reason for the post? I’m pretty sure I paid someone’s rent at college in exchange for pulling ALL of the red tags…🤔 ... See MoreSee Less

We have another new product for this year to share and we are absolutely thrilled with it! We worked with a gal named Paige Lilley who has written a children’s book about her family’s experience visiting a tree farm. She is a talented artist as she draws her own illustrations for the book! Take a look at how cool these turned out!We can’t hardly wait to share them this year! ... See MoreSee Less

Half of our seedlings arrived on Friday! What a weekend to try to plant! We got 50 Canaan Firs planted in the wind on Saturday and 50 scotch pines planted today. I’d like to say it was between rain showers, but it wasn’t! Only 500 more to go before the second half arrive the week of the 15th!! Seedlings look fantastic so far this year too!!Historically, Fir trees don’t like our soils on the farm. We studied firs and soils and planting techniques a bit over the winter, so it will be interesting to see if any of them actually survive this year! ... See MoreSee Less

** I did not expect that kind of response, that quickly! All four have been spoken for. Thank you everyone!!**We have another special order that was never picked up and the person has not responded to pick it up! Tanya spent 3 full days making all of the headstone saddles she had special ordered for this year! This order was for 4 of them! It would be a shame for them to go to waste! If you would like to get a last minute decoration to add to the headstone of a loved one in remembrance at Christmas, please reach out! They have a soft, rubber foot pad on them so they will not damage the stone. If you aren’t local, we will gladly deliver to your loved one’s place of rest and set it for you! We even send a picture so you can see it! *provided the cemetery is reasonably local*Headstone saddles are normally $29.95/ea these 4 are available for $24.99/ea to help them find a place of remembrance. *note the ribbon in the picture is of another saddle. The ones that are available will vary slightly.* ... See MoreSee Less

Super small space? Don’t want a big tree? Don’t think your budget will allow for a real tree this year? We have a very limited quantity of Canaan Fir trees in the 4-5’ range available in the precut area. These are being reduced to just $40 now until we close on Sunday or until we sell out!
