FAQ

What do I need to bring?

There’s no need to bring any tools or equipment with you to Country Pines. (In fact, we can’t allow people to bring their own tools. Pesky insurance rules.) Just dress for the weather and we’ll provide the rest including saws, carts, tree shaking, netting, throwaway bags, and we’ll even tie the tree to the roof of the ol’ stationwagon, if needed!

How do I take care of my precut tree?

First and foremost, be sure to cut off  ¼” off the trunk. Make the cut perpendicular to the stem, not at an angle or a V-shape.

Use a stand with an adequate water-holding capacity and check the stand daily to make sure the water level does not go below the base of the tree.

Keep the tree away from sources of heat such as fireplaces, heaters, vents, and direct sunlight. Lowering the room temperature will slow the drying process and result in less water consumption each day.

Holy Cow it's August already!! We open for the season in 4 months! We want to thank everyone that took a precut tree, again. Your willingness and understanding literally took a whole years of stress and heartache away from us. Mother Nature sure welcomed us to our first year in her unique way! Bringing in those precuts really saved our inventory, and quite honestly saved the short term future of the farm! The smaller trees from last year are looking great for the 6' range this year! We will be supplementing the scotch pine pre-cuts again this year, just not near as many as last year.A couple of hints into this years ideas:1- Are you noticing how fast time goes by anymore? What if we try to slow things down a little, at least for 1 night! What if we had a night where you could find your perfect tree, under the twinkling lights of an old fashioned Christmas Tree Lot? Santa's cabin would be lit up with Christmas lights and you could stop in to say hi to the jolly old elf himself! Warm up beside the fire pit and enjoy conversation with friends and family while we net your tree. We're trying to develop that night as we type! There are a few roadblocks that will come before we can do that- mostly ensuring we have been able to make the trip to get trees picked up! This would be in the precut forest area only. Saws and darkness just don't mix well for anyone! More details on this as we figure things out!2- We are expanding the tree species in the precut forest! We have had such a hard time getting the Balsam and Fraser firs, so we are adding the Canaan fir to the mix! The Canaan fire is known for its fragrance, just like the Balsam and for their rounded, cone shaped branches, like the Fraser. Most people can't tell the difference! They will be available from 6-12'3- Weather permitting, we will use the field across the road to the south again. That worked out so nicely last year, so as long as it's not muddy, we'll do it again!4- We can't let all of the kitties out of the bag!! We have 1 additional change in the barn that you'll just have to wait to check out! We hope you like it! - Flocked tree orders will be due soon. We learned a few things and got some good feedback on what we can do for the better on those. Be thinking about if you'd like a flocked tree, we will post a due date in the next couple of weeks! There will be a limit of 25, we just don't have the space for any more than that!Enough for now! Thanks for sticking with this long post, we have a short amount of time to get a lot of information to you!-Justin and Tanya ... See MoreSee Less

What do we do at the tree farm while all around us gets rain?? We stand outside with our little water cart and add moisture that way! It’s become a running joke amongst our family since we moved here that Moses must live in the barn because he parts the storm clouds around the farm every time! New trees are going in the ground and they look great!! We are working on something new for this year, more details to come as we firm up some details! ... See MoreSee Less

We have been going for years. My favorite part of Christmas is gathering the family up and picking out the perfect tree! Friendly staff, they treat everyone like family.
